Church volunteer accused of sexually assaulting five-year-old boy

A church volunteer is in the Harris County jail accused of sexually molesting five-year-old boy left his care
Harris County prosecutors say Melvin Jiles was caring for the little boy while his parents attended a function at the International Church of Christ in Friendswood. The alleged incident happened last November at the little boy’s home.
“Elders at the Church of Christ spoke with Melvin Jiles,” said Assistant District Attorney Charles Thompson. “He made admissions to at least three individuals that he did have improper sexual contact with the child.”
Police arrested Jiles on Monday after a two month long investigation. More charges against him are pending.
Authorities say anyone who came into contact with Jiles should contact Friendswood police. In the meantime, the church has no comment.
